Director, Screening and High Content Analysis
As the Director, Screening and High Content Analysis, you will lead the development and execution of NGNRI’s high-content screening platform, driving target discovery and therapeutic development using advanced organoid and cell-based models.

Senior Image Analysis Software Engineer
The Senior Image Analysis Software Engineer role is a rare opportunity to push the AI/ML envelope on mission-critical biological data and see the methods you build go from prototype to daily use by the institute's scientists. The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of the image analysis software that powers NGNRI’s high-content microscopy screening platform, turning terabyte-scale imaging datasets into therapeutically relevant biological insights.
The role spans the full arc from algorithm to deployment: adapting and advancing state-of-the-art deep learning and image analysis methods for 2D and 3D analysis of cell organoids, and building the robust, high-throughput pipelines that run them on NGNRI’s state-of-the-art High-Performance Computing infrastructure. Senior Digital Infrastructure Engineer
The Senior Digital Infrastructure Engineer will ensure the reliable, secure, and scalable operation of NGNRI’s digital infrastructure and will execute on its development roadmap, serving as the operational backbone of the institute’s Digital Ecosystem.

Director, Cell Culture and Organoids, will lead the development of NGNRI’s advanced in vitro model systems, including organoids, assembloids, and other human-relevant platforms, to support discovery, screening, and translational research.

Chief Scientific Officer
We are seeking an exceptional CSO with outstanding scientific credentials and a proven record of leading and delivering high-impact research in world-class institutions. The ideal candidate will be a leading expert in cerebroids, organoids, assembloids, or other stem cell derived “organ-in-a-dish” systems, with direct experience in automated screening and/or drug discovery applications strongly preferred. As CSO, you will define the scientific vision for NGNRI, design and lead its research strategy, and ensure execution of programs aimed at breakthrough discoveries in Neurofibromatosis type I and other neurological disorders. Research Assistant Grade II/III
As the Research Assistant (RA Grade I–III), you will play a key role in supporting advanced cell culture and organoid-based research within NGNRI’s Cell Culture and Organoid Facility. This position is open to candidates at varying experience levels, with responsibilities tailored accordingly.
The successful candidate will begin with hands-on training in a Henry Ford Health laboratory, gaining experience in stem cell culture, organoid systems, and experimental workflows. You will then transition to NGNRI to help establish and operate its in-house organoid platform.

As the Procurement Officer, you will manage sourcing, purchasing, and vendor relationships to ensure the timely, cost-effective delivery of goods and services that support NGNRI’s research and operations. Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in a scientific, healthcare, academic, or nonprofit environment
Familiarity with laboratory procurement, including scientific equipment, reagents, and specialized services, is strongly preferred
Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships
Strong understanding of procurement processes, compliance, and best practices
Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in procurement systems and standard office tools
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working in a regulated or grant-funded environment is an asset
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field preferred
Relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPPB) are an asset
Equivalent experience will be considered

The Nick Gilbert Neurofibromatosis Research Institute (NGNRI) is a nonprofit organization focused on developing treatments and cures for Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and other neurological disorders and cancers with significant unmet need. Backed by the Gilbert Family Foundation and created in partnership with Michigan State University (MSU) and Henry Ford Health (HFH), NGNRI brings together leading scientific and clinical expertise to accelerate translational discovery.
Located within a new, state-of-the-art research facility in midtown Detroit, NGNRI offers a highly collaborative environment alongside MSU and HFH.
